Tisanes do not originate from the camellia sinensis bush that refers to "tea". The word tisane is derived from the French phrase "herbal mixutre". The ingredients generally consist of any single or combination of fruits, seeds, herbs, and flavors. Tisanes are naturally decaffeinated and the fruit mixtures are also loaded with vitamin C.
